Republicans endorse racism, and hate.....
This sweet old lady, just can't understand all the fuss surrounding her e-mail, of a cartoon, depicting our president as the product of a chimpanzee union.
Apparently she thought her friends, would enjoy this bawdy hilarity; so she e-mailed it around.
Well I guess one of her friends had the audacity to share this e-mail with the news; being that this Davenport lady, and many of her friends were head of the Orange County, California Republican committee.
It sure looks to me, like this lady was birthed by 2 prunes!

This is art, too...................Death
The Adams Funeral home in Compton, may in fact, change my last will and testament.
This facility offers the loved one's, of the deceased, the opportunity to say one last good-bye, without getting out of your car. I believe, that this is why I moved to California, in the first place!

Busy, real busy
LAartGuy is not complaining; rather, explaining my absence from this blog.
Laddie and Lita have kept me busy, readying their work, for travel to Italy.
It's great to see our local team, showing Europe, just how it's done.
Around here, the semi-annual Brewery Artwalk is always a great place to view artists in their native habitat. It doesn't hurt, that there is Stella, on draught, at Barbara West.
The guy I'm going to see, (other than Guillermo Bert), is Ted Meyer. A nice, funny guy, who works with models that have scars. His works seems both didactic, and healing, with a little voyeurism thrown in. See the lady, see her scars. What can't you see?

Tonight, Saturday, go here
Gallery 825 is hosting some funky German art.
Corey Helford is having D-Face in the house.
Robert Russell is a fantastic painter/artist, his new rep is Francois Ghebaly.
And I guess, if you're already slummin' in CC, stop and get some free beer at Blum & Poe's opening tonight of Florian Maier-Aichen. The most important opening tonight, inter-galactically speaking, is Kehinde Wiley, (his work pictured at left) at Roberts & Tilton, around the corner from B&P, this guy is "the shit" as a painter, and history will show him to be the poignant perspective of his generation!
Drive safe, have fun, and spend some money. Someone's gotta get the economy rolling again.
What we're missing, is the "Fuck you" money of the early 00's.
On your way home, stop by my favorite Bikini bar, and drop some singles on the girls (for you, Sid)

Art sale. Tax write off, party, and schmoozefest
Excellent deals are to be had, at this annual LA Art Association fundraiser. I add to my collection, from this sale, every year. This years featured donors are Suzanne Woodruff, who is having a smashing, sell-out show at William Turner Gallery, as well as Ned Evans, another Turner artist. Solomon Huerta has a lovely flower painting, courtesy of Patrick Painter Gallery, and Brad Howe has donated a gorgeous little sculpture in the sale as well.
This event is always catered by a well known food establishment, and sales are fueled by 2 complimentary bars. LAartGuy will be there, and there will be blood! This picture has nothing to do with my post, or the Art sale, but cool photo, huh? Oh yeah, and FACEBOOK sucks.
